Airbus Commercial Aircraft, formally Airbus S.A.S., is one of the three divisions of the European aerospace corporation Airbus SE and the most prominent of them. A wholly owned division of the Airbus SE, the company designs, develops and manufactures more than half of the world's commercial aircraft and is Boeing's main competitor. Airbus S.A.S. is based in Blagnac (a suburb of Toulouse, France), with production and manufacturing facilities mostly in the European Union (notably in France, Germany and Spain) as well as the United Kingdom, China, the United States and Canada. The company produces and markets the first commercially viable digital fly-by-wire airliner, the Airbus A320, and the world's largest passenger airliner, the A380.
